Overview

The system gives registered users a focused workspace for creating, reviewing, updating and deleting inventory records. Each product records commercial and stock-movement data, not just a name and a quantity.

Challenge

The project needed a clear data model and a protected CRUD workflow that kept the operational fields needed to understand real stock value and loss.

Approach

I followed Laravel 11 conventions: resource routes, controllers with request validation, Eloquent models, migrations, authentication middleware, Blade views, pagination and database seeding.

Outcome

The completed project demonstrates a clean MVC workflow and a foundation that could be extended into purchasing, reporting or role-based warehouse operations.

Engineering decisions
01

Track loss, not just stock

Products record total, sold and wasted quantities alongside price and transportation cost. Real margin and shrinkage can therefore be worked out from the data, rather than only on-hand counts.

What I built
01Registration, login, logout and authenticated inventory routes
02Validated product creation, detail, update and deletion
03Pricing, total/sold/wasted quantity and transportation-cost tracking
04Paginated inventory views plus migrations and seed data
